Completed in 2021, Golden Horse Fairyland is situated within the public green space of The Oval in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing. Developed by Orient Group and architecturally designed by 100 Architects,the project marks a landmark extension of Orient Group’s core community children’s IP “Kids Dream & Joy” from residential precincts into urban commercial public domains.
Based on the concept of “Urban Toy”, the installation blurs the traditional boundary between urban landscape and children’s playground. Drawing creative inspiration from equestrian culture and the flying horse legend, the site constructs a complete immersive play narrative with a continuous, progressive circulation route extending from the horse’s tail to the horse’s head.The play experience is scientifically graded by age groups.The integrated venue comprises diversified obstacle facilities, including tunnel slides, climbing walls, suspended spherical units and sway swings, alongside dedicated rest and supervision zones for accompanying guardians.
This mystical winged horse leaves magical golden trails behind it, gracefully winding around the compact circular plaza. It creates a platform for leisure and social interaction, transforming the play ground landscape into a multi functional public space for both children and adults. Visitors can experience a series of challenging activities along the golden ribbon all the way to the horse head, which helps cultivate and improve users’ physical fitness and cognitive abilities.
Hongyang undertook the full scope of shop drawings design, structural fabrication and on-site installation for the project. To reproduce the intended design effect, custom molds were developed for multi curved components including lamp shades. Side illuminated fixtures are internally lined with metal sheets to ensure safety and structural robustness. Featuring an industry first outdoor TPU surface punching post, the product delivers outstanding durability and complies with TUV testing requirements. Custom formulated paint is applied to withstand acid rain conditions at the project site.
